I am a fifth-year accounting PhD candidate at Arizona State University, entering the 2021-2022 academic job market. Click here to download my CV.
I conduct capital markets research in accounting. For example, my dissertation provides a novel approach to using Big Data to support the investment process. Specifically, I demonstrate how transaction-level data (regarding firms' promotional pricing) can be used to predict future earnings surprises and abnormal returns. My working papers reflect other topics in financial accounting (e.g., analysts, real earnings management, fraud, etc.) and tax.
My teaching interests are flexible, but I would especially look forward to teaching data analytics and/or incorporating analytics into other accounting courses (e.g., cost accounting, audit, tax). Happy to teach any financial accounting course as well.
